Guests at the May 15th OC Women2Women Lunch Club event enjoyed meeting other like-minded women as they came together to assemble 100 personal gift bags for women in need. Attendees had the opportunity to BE THE CHANGE in a woman’s life simply by stuffing gift bags filled with items for the residents of WISEPlace, Colette's Children's Home and Human Options, the non-profit OC Women2Women has selected to support in 2019, as they provide a safe-haven for abused women.
Human Options is dedicated to ignite social change by leading collective county-wide responses in service of those affected by abuse. OC Women2Women’s current fundraising efforts will make a direct impact by providing 200 privacy window coverings to help offer a safe, comforting environment for those seeking refuge and support.
We are happy to announce that our Career Clothing Drive at the recent Lunch Club event brought in enough clothing for approximately 100 women. Working Wardrobes representatives were thrilled with the overwhelming response. Our generous event guests enjoyed the mini-fashion show with Chico's and Marmi shoes breaking out their spring designs, providing creative ideas to update their wardrobes.
OC Women2Women received a Thank-You note from Working Wardrobes directly after the event, explaining:
"For our clients, an article of clothing represents so much more. It represents hope. It represents a brighter future. It represents transformation. It represents a new outlook on life, confidence, self-esteem, and self-sufficiency. It represents a job."

The RedO outdoor pavillion was the perfect setting to kick off the 2019 OC Women2Women Lunch Club event. Guests were excited to renew friendships and make new ones during lunch. The group was inspired as DANY FROM PIANISTA kicked-off the event with her musical magic performing the National Anthem and closed the event with "I Did It My WaY".
Karen Butera, President of OC Women2Women shared the 2019 goals including the OCW2W support of Human Options, a non-profit group advocating for those affected by abuse, extending a safe place for victims and empowering survivors on their journey of healing.
OCW2W managed to find the good in the world and share it with those in need during the holiday season. The festive Balboa Island Christmas lights set the tone for this annual OCW2W gathering. The group celebrated the holiday season while supporting female veterans and their children. Everyone enjoyed fabulous food, greeting old friends and making new ones, while surrounded by the dazzling Balboa Christmas lights.
In celebration of the season of giving, guests donated unwrapped gifts for children and/or gift cards for female veterans. This annual event is a perfect example of what OC Women2Women stands for: inspiring, empowering, and investing in the lives of under-served women in Orange County.
The October 10th OCW2W Lunch Club event was an entertaining day of food, friends and fashion for a great cause. Our community-minded Guests were inspired by the mini-fashion show hosted by C|Dobbs with shoes by Marmi. Attendees enjoyed the light-hearted competition to win the raffle tickets from the Red O, Marmi Shoes, and C|Dobbs.
As a women's non-profit organization, OCW2W identifies charitable groups in need of our support. Jude Lipps, OC Women2Women Grant Committee Chairman, introduced Ann Duncan Levy, Development Manager of Human Options, who outlined their various efforts to stand against domestic violence. In 2019, OC Women2Women is proud to announce their support of the Human Options vision: a world in which no woman or child should ever feel afraid in her/his home.
The OCW2W July Lunch Club event featured Eileen Padberg, author of "Out Of My Lane", sharing the story of how she overcame barriers to rebuild the gender-oppressed women of Iraq.
OC Women2Women provided an update on how we are making a difference for women in need residing in Orange County. The Lunch Club brings women together with the purpose and direction of supporting others with a hand up, not a hand out.
